    NEW FACTORS IN TOKYU GARDEN CITY

    In just a short time, TOKYU Garden City has welcomed 3 brand new restaurants with 3 different vibes, 3 different stories, but they all bring new and unique colors to TOKYU Garden.

    1. Wakaba わか葉 

    The second store of the most famous Japanese restaurant of the “Little Japan” Le Thanh Ton Street. It opened officially in the ground floor of SORA gardens from July 9, 2020.

    Wakaba Binh Duong brings you the finest masterpieces, as they say “More Japanese than Japan”. The materials Wakaba takes pride on are carefully selected and imported from Japan and will definitely enhance your dining experience.

    Apart from the usual menu with the “authentic” Japanese dishes like tempura, curry, oden, unadon,… Wakaba also have a seasonal menu with various dishes of Japan such as fresh sushi, sashimi, or yakitori, and a wide selection of beer and sake. The restaurant is ideal for friendly gatherings or business meetings. Unique private rooms are also available for group parties. A bar located near the kitchen counter enables people to see how the cooks prepare the food in Japanese style. The guests would feel like they are having their meal in Japan with the brilliant yet sophisticated interior decoration.

    2. Happy Ramen

    The fourth store of this Binh Duong famous ramen chain. The owner is a Vietnamese who spent 20 years studying and working in Japan and has 15 years of experience in terms of ramen and Japanese cuisine in general.

    Happy Ramen menu includes a wide range of familiar noodle dishes like shio ramen, shouyu ramen, spicy miso ramen, charsiu ramen, veggie ramen, tsukemen,… or other special side dishes like chahan, gyoza or takoyaki,…

    The ramen taste varies depending on the region, and the ramen of Happy Ramen’s follow Chiba Prefecture’s style. It’s said that all the dishes are made with 100% Japanese original taste, and additives (e.g. MSG) are added as less as possible for the customers to feel the true taste from the ingredients.

    For those who are not familiar with Japanese food taste or first time to have ramen, you can try shio ramen (salt flavored, but not salty as people might think, it’s close to the Vietnamese familiar taste). Japanese customers would often choose miso ramen, but the rich miso taste would be a little too much for Vietnamese to try. Moreover, it’s little known that the must-try, chef’s recommendation, in Happy Ramen are chahan (fried rice) and charsiu. The owner takes pride on his distinguished charsiu and chahan frying technique.

    The price is a little above average but the equality to other similar restaurants makes it acceptable, not to mention about the size, each serve is big and full. Happy Ramen is more than suitable for group dining as it has several choices for everyone.

    3. Fat Mama – Singaporean Hainanese chicken rice

    “Fat Mama – Singaporean Hainanese chicken rice” may bear the impression of a rather chubby housewife owner, but people will be surprised when they come to the counter and see this manly smiley young man.

    Fat Mama’s owner is a truly enthusiastic and interesting man. He comes from Singapore but followed his wife to Vietnam some years ago. After running many businesses, in HCMC, he decided to choose Binh Duong New City to be the home for his latest brand – a Hainanese chicken rice store. The name “Fat Mama” is named after his adopted mother – a lady chef who runs a Hainanese chicken rice family restaurant. The restaurant also inspired him this time.

    The store mainly serve chicken dishes such as chicken rice, steamed chicken, roasted chicken, chicken porridge, chicken macaroni and many other side dishes. The “Singaporean-ness” is shown via the chicken – after being boiled, the chicken is put through ice water to make the the meat and skin soft and tender like gelatin, then served cold. The Singaporean or Malaysian or Chinese like it that way. The chicken is particularly soft, not as hard as “gà ta”, the native chicken that’s highly preferred by Vietnamese. The rice is cooked with the chicken stock, the absorbing the flavor makes it more special than the ordinary steamed rice. Additionally, the thick soy sauce is completely Singaporean authentic. In the night time when there are fewer orders, they may warm the serve in case the customers want their meal hot.

    If you want to try the most authentic Singaporean Hainanese chicken rice in town, Fat Mama must be the one.
